Der Horizontalgreifer ist ein System, welches ohne Spulenkapsel und mit einer geringen Fadenspannung auskommt. Für Maschinen mit diesem Spulentyp hält das Sortiment von Prym Packungen mit je vier gleichen Nähmaschinenspulen aus transparentem Kunststoff in drei verschiedenen Größen bereit. Ein großer Vorteil der Kunststoffspule ist, dass man stets die Farbe des Garnes und den Garnvorrat auf der Spule im Blick hat und so dem plötzlichen Ausbleiben des Unterfadens vorbeugen kann.
